The PNWD Addictions Ministry Program and the UU Congregation of Salem are joining together to present a workshop on practical approaches to recovery from addictions and mental health issues, and ways in which our congregations can support those affected.

Plan to send a team to Salem, Oregon for the November 16 workshop, Practical Approaches to Recovery: Many Roads–One Journey. This will be an opportunity for your congregation to share experiences, as well as discover what is needed to create a thriving addictions/recovery ministry program in your own congregation.

In order to best meet these needs, the Addictions Ministry team is soliciting your input. Take a moment to provide your feedback through their brief Fall Survey. What topics would be helpful for you in this workshop? What challenges are you facing in establishing a successful program in your congregation?

The workshop will be held Saturday, November 16, 8:30-3:30, at the UU Congregation of Salem. Download the workshop flyer for registration details and the day’s agenda. The registration fee is by donation – pay what you can.

Plan to also attend the 10:30 church service the following morning at UUCS, which will focus on “Growing a UU Recovery Movement: Stretching Higher and Deeper.”

If you have questions or would like additional information about the weekend’s events, contact the Rev. David Maynard or Mike Becker.
