Pacific Northwest District Chalice Lighters have once again made possible grants to support PNWD congregations in acquiring and implementing growth technology. The application process is very simple – and due by November 2, 2015. Grant amounts may vary depending upon the applications, but are expected to be in the range of $500 – $2,500 each.
In spring 2013, the PNWD Chalice Lighters generously created a fund to improve growth technology in PNWD member congregations. The grants provided were so successful, the spring 2015 Chalice Lighter call funded a second round of tech grants to reach additional member congregations.
Grants may be used to help purchase equipment to improve church communication and outreach, and to support leadership training and ministry. Grants will be awarded in mid-January 2016. Preference will be given to congregations that demonstrate growth potential with the help of technology, have limited financial or professional resources, are geographically isolated, and/or have not received a Chalice Lighter grant (including a first-round tech grant) since fall 2012.
To be considered, congregations must:
- Be a UUA and PNWD member congregation
- Be a full fair share Honor Congregation* for both UUA and PNWD for the most recently completed fiscal year (June 30, 2015)
- Have at least 30% of members enrolled as active Chalice Lighters* or be willing to meet this level of involvement before the November 2, 2015 application deadline
- Submit the simple online application by November 2, 2015
