Shoreline UU Church presents a lecture and workshop on Saturday, October 1, by the Rev. Barbara Meyers on the congregation’s role in supporting members and families dealing with mental illness.

Her lecture, from 10 AM – Noon, will provide an overview of common disorders and problem solving for specific situations in the congregation, including suicide in the congregation and the importance of pastoral care.

The workshop,  from 1 – 4 PM, will include personal stories, exercises and discussion on building a mental health ministry in your congregation.

There is no charge for this program, though donations are welcome. A light lunch will be available. Attendees may stay for the lecture, workshop or both.
