University Unitarian Church (Seattle, WA) has selected two organizations, Powerful Voices and Casa Latina, to support financially and through volunteer service and advocacy work. UUC’s “Seeds of Justice” program invites church members to commit to effective change by working on the root causes of social injustice.

Over the next 1-3 years, the program focuses the congregation’s partnership with these two organizations. The application process will then be revisited, to reach out to more organizations in the community. Congregants are replenishing the Seeds of Justice grant funds through dedicated plate collections on the second Sundays in July and August, and will continue to donate time to the partner groups as well.
