The UUA staff of the Pacific Western Region are in San Jose, and ready to welcome more than 600 registrants from four districts – the Pacific Northwest, Pacific Central, Pacific Southwest and the Mountain Desert!
Janine Larsen, District Executive for the UUA Pacific Northwest, has posted an article on the front page of pnwd.org to provide information and links to several ways to be involved with this historic event, whether you are on site or at home.
One of the best ways is to follow the Twitter feed, @PWRUUA. Attendees will be sharing their discoveries with #pwra13. If you are not a Twitter user, you can still follow these short messages at the websites of either PNWD (www.pnwd.org) or the Pacific Western Region (pwruua.org).
You’ll also see news and photos posted throughout the event to the PWR Facebook page and the Regional Assembly Event page.
There will be lots to report! Even before Regional Assembly starts, there are meetings of the combined chapters of UU Ministers Association (UUMA), Liberal Religious Educators Association (LREDA), Association of UU Administrators (AUUA), as well as a joint meeting of all four District Boards. Then we’ll swing right into the Rev. Christine Robinson’s opening keynote on Friday night, the three theme tracks and option workshops on Saturday, and annual meetings for all four districts on Saturday afternoon – PNWD’s will include off-site delegates for the first time. The Pacific Central District will introduce its newly selected District Executive, we’ll celebrate and reflect at several Full Community Worship Services, and we’ll have lots of music, including Holly Near’s wonderful song, “I Am Willing” (the Regional Assembly anthem). And there will be much, much more, so stay in tune!
