2021 Annual Meeting Packet

PNWD Listening Circle

After our Annual Meeting, which introduces dissolution as the next step towards regionalization for the Pacific Northwest District, this meeting will be an opportunity for members to talk with the Board more about this recommendation. We hope to hear from you all about what you would like to see happen with programs that are tied to our District identity, like Chalice Lighters. To join this meeting please register here. 


Annual Meeting Information
Hello dear friends in the Pacific Northwest, 

The board of the Pacific Northwest District of the UUA invites you and your fellow congregants to join us for a rousing annual meeting on Sunday, May 16th at 2:00 p.m. PDT.

We plan to sing and connect and celebrate the resilience and leadership of our fellow UUs during the last challenging year.  We will also address our final step in regionalization, as we link arms to do our work with the other three districts in the Pacific Western Region. 

Please register for the Annual Meeting and indicate your interest in serving as a delegate, by clicking hereDelegates are members of congregations in the PNW who are able to vote on items presented at the Annual Meeting. Per our bylaws, 40 delegates representing no less than a third of member congregations constitutes a quorum.

As you read above and as you will see in our agenda, the Pacific Northwest District Board is working with the Pacific Central District, Mountain Desert District, Pacific Southwest District, and the staff of the Pacific Western Region to take the next steps in regionalization. We will not be voting to dissolve the PNW District at this meeting. Rather, the Board will introduce the idea, present the context, and share about ways you will be able to give your feedback on regionalization moving forward. We will vote on the Bylaws amendment (below), in anticipation of voting to dissolve the PNW District later this fall.

Please review and be prepared to vote on this bylaw change at our Annual Meeting: 

Article XI – DISSOLUTION

Section 1. the PNWD can be dissolved using one of the following procedures:
(a)  a majority vote of the membership voting at an annual or special meeting, declaring the PNWD dissolved
(b)  a unanimous vote of the remaining Directors at a regular or special board meeting, declaring the PNWD dissolved

Section 2. Upon dissolution, all former member Congregations and Associate Organizations of the PNWD shall be notified by the Secretary of dissolution containing the date of dissolution.
