The Rev. Joel Miller began Interim Ministry at the UU Fellowship of Corvallis (OR) in mid-August. Rev. Miller concluded 11 years as the Senior Minister of the UU Church of Buffalo, NY, last spring. Prior to that settlement, he was the founding minister of the Columbine Unitarian Universalist Church in Littleton, CO, where he served for almost 8 years. Rev. Miller also started the Mission Peak Congregation (in Fremont, CA) after his graduation from Starr King School of the Ministry in 1991. Rev. Miller has the distinction of being the last minister to serve in the UUA’s “Minister-on-loan” program, which included service in the PNWD as the Minister-on-Loan to Juneau, AK, about 15 years ago.

Coincidentally, the Rev. Sarah Schurr, whose Internship was with UU Fellowship of Corvallis in 2007, currently serves the Juneau UU Fellowship as Consulting Minister through the PNWD’s Developmental Ministry program, which is similar in many respects to the “Minister-on-loan” program.
